The information centre for environmental information systems, recycling-oriented products, components, materials aims at creating an infrastructure at the economic location Berlin to support electronics companys with information and knowledge on successful realization of closed product life cycles. Advanced training for design of environmentally benign products will be offered.

The information centre supports the practice-oriented education of students in the fields of environmental sciences, electrotechnics, mechanical engineering, microsystem technologies etc., concerning environmentally friendly product design. Furthermore, employees of small and medium-sized enterprises from the electronics industry, which do not own an environmental information system and have to get expertise on environmentally benign products from outside, are the target group for advanced training.

The information centre's main focus for training and consulting lies on

  • Design stategies for environmentally compatible, low-pollutant electronic products
  • Reduced energy consumption of electronic devices
  • Avoiding / reducing toxic materials
  • Optimized recyclability
  • Optimized production processes
  • Environmental information systems, in cooperation with FHTW Berlin

The project "Information centre for environmental information systems, recycling-oriented products, components, materials" is funded by Berlin Senate Department of Science, Research and Culture (European Regional Development Fund). The project is worked on by the Research Center for Microperipheric Technologies at the Technical University of Berlin in cooperation with FHTW Berlin.
