Fraunhofer IZM welcomes Professor Dr. Ege Engin as Humboldt Research Fellow

Berlin /

Fraunhofer IZM welcomes Prof. Dr. Ege Engin from San Diego State University as an Alexander-von-Humboldt Research Fellow at IZM from December 2015 to July 2016 as well as during the summers of 2017 and 2018. He is an Associate Professor with the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department of San Diego State University, USA.

The Humboldt fellowship for experienced and leading international researchers will support Prof. Engin’s research on signal and power integrity for advanced electronic packaging and system integration technologies. The goal of his research is to investigate new design approaches for power distribution networks towards faster electronic systems operating at multiple GHz clock frequencies. Prof. Engin will be working very closely with his former research department, RF & Smart Sensor Systems, where he completed his Ph.D. training in 2004. The extensive signal and power integrity know-how at IZM, coupled with advanced RF/high-speed design and measurement facilities as well as the focused application-oriented research environment at IZM has attracted Prof. Engin for his research visit.

Prof. Engin is the co-author of the book "Power Integrity Modeling and Design for Semiconductors and Systems," published by Prentice Hall in 2007, and translated to Japanese and Chinese. He is the recipient of the Semiconductor Research Corporation Inventor Recognition Award in 2009, and the Outstanding Educator Award from the International Microelectronics Packaging and Assembly Society in 2015. His research has been supported by National Science Foundation, Air Force Research Laboratory, Kyocera North America, and NEC Japan.
