We are pleased to announce the visit of Eric Fribourg-Blanc, Senior Programme Officer at the Chips Joint Undertaking, as well as Dirk Schumann and Johannes Rittner to Fraunhofer IZM. The guests were welcomed by Martin Schneider-Ramelow, Director of Fraunhofer IZM. The focus of the visit was on the APECS pilot line and its significance for European microelectronics. Eric Fribourg-Blanc brings extensive knowledge in the monitoring and implementation of programs in the semiconductor industry. Dirk Schumann is the overall project manager for the APECS pilot line, and Johannes Rittner is the technical manager of this pioneering consortium for chiplet innovations in Europe, which is being driven forward by the Research Fab Microelectronics Germany (FMD). The joint exchange focused on the strategic orientation of the APECS pilot line, in-depth cooperation between the institutions, and the challenges in microelectronics. The aim was to identify synergies and discuss ways to strengthen European semiconductor research and production. We look forward to the results of the discussions and future cooperation!
