Newly qualified Microtechnologist July Marie Kierdorf has graduated top of her year. In honor of her achievement, she joined 12 other outstanding Fraunhofer institute trainees for a special award ceremony at the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft’s Munich headquarters on 11.11.2014. The award was presented by Susanne Woltering on behalf of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft’s management board. Ms. Kierdorf is the latest of many success stories in Fraunhofer IZM’s longstanding commitment to encouraging women to join the microtechnology field and training the next generation of technicians and scientists.

Her primary supervisor during the three-year apprenticeship, which covered all aspects of PCB manufacturing and embedding technology, was Stefan Karaskiewicz.  Ms. Kierdorf will be joining Fraunhofer IZM’s research partners at the TU Berlin Research Center for Microperipheric Technologies.
