Designing Electronics for & from Plastic Recycling

INCREACE-ing recyclability of electronics!

For product developers and designers of electrical and electronic equipment

It is with great pleasure that we invite you to an inspiring, hands-on day dedicated to designing the next generation of truly recyclable electronics. Over the past four years, our team within the EU INCREACE project has been developing holistic solutions for circular electronic design and now we’d love to share our insights with you! This interactive workshop brings together leading experts, pioneering companies, and passionate designers to explore how to design products which can be recycled at their end of life and to scale the use of recycled plastics as a meaningful alternative to virgin materials.

What you can expect

  • Two immersive, hands-on workshops

Workshop I on engaging consumers in the circular plastics transition— led by Partners for Innovation. Learn how to stimulate consumers to accept recycled plastics and participate in collection schemes.

Workshop II on NIR Sortability of Plastics in E-Waste — from Philips and KU Leuven. A live case study using colour maps and recycled plastic samples.

  • Be among the first to access two major new publications!

The INCREACE book – “Designing Recyclable Electronics Guide: A Playbook for Design For and From Recycling”, following the acclaimed PolyCE guide(.pdf) used worldwide.

The INCREACE Recyclability Assessment Tool (RAT), developed by Philips and PEZY, allowing designers to calculate and improve a product’s recyclability rate directly from design data.

  • Visit open funk production at MotionLab Berlin
Step inside one of Berlin’s most creative maker spaces and visit the Open Funk production line — a pioneer in circular design using recycled materials.
  • Digitisation for circularity – Tools by VDI ZRE
  • Networking dinner (optional)

Why You Shouldn’t Miss It

  • Practical, hands-on learning with real recycled materials and demonstrators.
  • Exclusive access to two milestone publications in circular design.
  • Insights from industry pioneers and chance to connect with leading experts.
  • A unique opportunity to accelerate your skills in designing for recyclability.
