Global Excellence in Optical Communications

From September 20 to 24, 2026, Málaga will host the European Conference on Optical Communications (ECOC), the most prestigious event for optical communications in Europe and the second largest worldwide. The conference provides a high-level forum for researchers from academia and industry to explore scientific advancements and identify future trends essential for technological and economic progress. A key objective of the event is to investigate how photonics can address critical requirements for the growth and sustainability of the modern information society, specifically in emerging fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Technologies, and the Internet of Things. Fraunhofer IZM will be represented at ECOC 2026, contributing to the international scientific discourse and engaging with key industry players to discuss the latest developments in system integration.
