In 2025, Fraunhofer IZM once again offered an extensive professional development and workshop program within the framework of the “Green ICT @ FMD” competence center. The Green ICT Courses aimed to provide in-depth knowledge on sustainable information and communication technologies (ICT) and to strengthen the transfer of research results into practical applications. The course series comprised several online seminars, addressing key topics such as life cycle assessment and climate neutrality of ICT, while presenting practical tools for environmental evaluation in industry.

In addition, the seminars explored the energy-efficient design of IoT systems and future wireless networks up to 6G, potential solutions for reducing electronic waste, approaches to resource-optimized electronics production as well as EU environmental legislation for Green ICT.

Overall, the Green ICT Courses once again provided valuable insights and concrete solutions for a more resource-efficient digital future.
