Green ICT Online-Seminar / October 10, 2024, 3:30 to 5:00 pm, CET
»From CMOS Fabrication to Advanced Packaging – Ecological Aspects«
Description of the seminar:
After general information on the semiconductor production and the cleanroom operational aspects, we focus on the environmental footprint of the IC production, including front-end, WLSI and packaging processes. We discuss consumption of resources (water, energy, chemicals) over various technology nodes and different measures to improve sustainability of these processes.
The online seminar is aimed at:
- Companies along the front-end and back-end process chain
- Companies that want to plan, build and operate cleanrooms sustainably
- Consulting firms with a focus on "Environmentally friendly processing in electronic packaging"
Speakers:
Dr. Michael Schiffer received his diploma in electrical engineering with focus on microsystems technology in 2003, and his doctorate degree with distinction for the development of a MEMS mass flow controller in 2010, both at the Technical University in Berlin. In 2009, he worked for TDK Sensors as a product developer for the MEMS pressure sensors, where he later headed process development and operations. Since 2018 he worked at Fraunhofer IZM and since 2019 he has been the head of the department "wafer level system integration” with around 50 permanent employees. His particular interests are innovative 2.5D/3D system integration technologies and the further development of MEMS and electro-optical systems.
Dr. Violeta Prodanović obtained a MSc degree in electrical engineering at the University of Belgrade in 2013. She received her PhD diploma at Delft University of Technology in 2019, after conducting research on MEMS-fabricated membranes for electron multiplication in a single photon counter. In her following career steps she gained experience in process development of various MEMS-based and graphene devices, as well as with plasma-based decapsulation processes of packaged ICs. In 2024, she joined Fraunhofer IZM as scientific researcher.
