FischFit – Integrated microsystems technology in water

The aim of the project "FischFiT-Monitoring - Integrated Microsystems Technology in Water" is the scientific and technological research and testing of an innovative telemetric sensor system for health diagnosis and monitoring of fish in aquaculture.

The necessary scientific and practical expertise in fisheries biology/technology, life sciences/veterinary medicine and engineering sciences (microelectronics, mobile communication, micromechanics and microsensor technology) is contributed by the research network's consortium of researchers and industry.

Fraunhofer IZM's research activities focus on the so-called FischFit monitor. The monitor will be a multi-channel microsensor system with wireless data communication.
A special feature of the autonomous sensor system is the ability to wirelessly recharge the system's energy storage underwater.
