Project PALM

Photonic Applications for Spatial Light Modulators

The Fraunhofer IZM has teamed up with Berlin-based Holoeye Photonics AG in a ProFIT project co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The purpose of the "Photonic Applications for Spatial Light Modulators” (PALM) project is to develop LCOS (Liquid Crystal on Silicon) cells for the ultraviolet and short-wave infrared band.

As part of the ProFIT program dedicated to promoting research, innovation, and new technologies, the joint project covers several research-oriented work streams handled primarily by the Fraunhofer IZM (package development) with its access to specialist process and results analysis capabilities. Holoeye Photonics AG contributes its systems expertise in a separate work stream focused on the market-ready implementation of the results.
