Fraunhofer IZM apprentice Pia Johne is honored for excellent exam results

Together with twelve apprentices from other Fraunhofer institutes, former Fraunhofer IZM apprentice Pia Johne (micro technologist, focus microsystem technology) was honored for her outstanding exam results by the Fraunhofer Board of Directors. The festivities took place at the Fraunhofer-Haus in Munich.

Pia Johne has taken taken up a course in biosystem technology at The University of Applied Sciences in Wildau and continues to work at Fraunhofer IZM as an intern.

Fraunhofer is currently training just under 400 apprentices in 31 one professions. Member of the executive board Alexander Kurz, responsible for human resources at the Fraunhofer-Gesellchaft, called it a social responsibility to train in excess of Fraunhofer's own demand. The ececutive board will continue to promote professional training in new sectors as well as training in cooperation with companies.
