"Get In The Ring" - Facing up to the challenges of future manufacturing

For the past nine years the SMTconnect in Nuremberg has set the stage for the Future Packaging live production line, organized by Fraunhofer IZM. A row of individual machines and tools, that are needed for the manufacturing of an end product. This year there are 16 companies contributing their machines as modules of the production line. The technical focus is on the various challenges, modern manufacturing has to deal with. Another point of discussion will be the communication between individual machines.

Challenges! All around us! In all media and on all channels. We are constantly required to face up to various challenges. Buzzwords fly around your ears with such regularity that you can quickly lose your bearings. Yet in the area of manufacturing in particular, the requirements have basically been the same since the beginning of the industrial age. The aim is to manufacture flawlessly, resource-sparingly, and energy-efficiently and to achieve a high level of quality and intrinsic value. Later, in order to improve quality along the value creation chain, there was also a demand for complete documentation of the most important indicators.

The 41 line participants and co-exhibitors of the production line and the Future Packing joint booth will present ways, options, and, above all, the latest machines and equipment. The main aim of all line participants and co-exhibitors is to bring every visitor up to speed with current developments.

Live production with commentary

The demonstration board will be assembled three times each day on the production line in hall 5, booth 434.
